Cracow Startup Map (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates startupcracow.xyz. This page explains our policies on collecting, using, and disclosing personal data when you use our service, and the choices you have.

Data controller

The data controller is HappyDesign (Jan Janeczek), the operator of Cracow Startup Map. For privacy requests or questions, email hi@happydesign.today.

What data we collect

From the add/submission form:

Your email address
Company name
Company location/coordinates
Sector(s) and other company details you provide

From the Featured request form (/ads/):

Legal company name, NIP, and billing address
Invoice email and contact name
Optional map listing name

From using the map:

Your location (if you grant permission), used only to center the map on you, not stored
Anonymous usage analytics via Google Analytics, only if you accept our cookie banner (page views, filters used, time on site)

We do not collect:

Analytics cookies unless you accept the cookie banner
Browsing history outside this site
Personal identification beyond what you voluntarily submit

How we use your data

Email from submissions:

To contact you if we need clarification on your submission
To notify you when your startup is published on the map
To send occasional updates about the project (you can opt out)

Featured requests and billing:

To review your listing and confirm eligibility
To issue invoices (faktura) and send payment instructions
To activate and manage Featured placement on the map

Submitted company data:

To review and verify accuracy before publication
To display on the public map
To provide to other users of the service

Analytics:

To understand how people use the map (which filters are popular, how long they stay, etc.)
To improve the product

Data retention

Submission emails: Kept for 1 year or until you request deletion
Featured and billing data: Kept as long as needed for the placement and statutory accounting (typically at least five years from the end of the tax year in which the invoice was issued, unless a longer period is required by law)
Published data on the map: Kept indefinitely unless you request removal
Analytics data: Aggregated and kept for performance tracking

Your rights (GDPR)

You have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of your submitted data
Correction: Ask us to update inaccurate information
Deletion: Request that we remove your data from the map
Portability: Receive your data in a portable format

Cookies

We store your cookie preference in a first-party cookie (scm-cookie-consent) so we remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics. This cookie is essential to honour your choice and does not track you across sites.

If you accept cookies, Google Analytics may set its own cookies to measure anonymous usage. You can change your choice anytime via in the site footer.

Formspree: Processes add-form, change-request, and Featured request submissions (Formspree privacy policy)
Google Analytics: Usage analytics when you accept cookies (Google privacy policy)
Google Fonts: Typography loaded from Google servers (Google Fonts privacy FAQ)
Cloudflare: Hosting and security (Cloudflare privacy policy)
Leaflet, OpenStreetMap & CARTO: Map rendering and tiles (OSM privacy policy, CARTO privacy policy)
Nominatim (OpenStreetMap): Address search and reverse geocoding on the add form; queries include the address or coordinates you type (Nominatim usage policy)

We do not share your email with anyone else beyond what is needed to operate these services.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We will update the date at the top. Continued use of the service means you accept the updated policy.
